I very much so dislike cloudflare (CF) and the sites that choose to use it. Only less than 1% of sites using it use it in a not-so-crappy way. Like comparing a turd with a polished turd. Website archive.4plebs.org uses CF in this way: blocks all Wget / curl / browser connections or makes them complete a verification or captcha. Only exception: archive.4plebs.org requires no verification / captcha for when web.archive.org saves its webpages or images.

So instead of the hydrus grabber failing when it hits a CF wall, it could do this:
1. hydrus trying to download image/data from a booru
2. CF wall hit, but the site doesn't block web.archive.org (WBM)
3. hydrus requests the same URL from Wayback Machine (WBM)
4. if it's been captured before, download it
5. if it's not been captured before, request that WBM save it
6. download the new capture from WBM after one minute to one hour

This is the hover folder of the /hover/ board that started on old 8ch in 2015
It contains most if not all of the images posted on the board, snapshots taken periodically throughout its time between 2015 and 2019 of the index page, every thread as it exists now on 8kun (in a 7z file) and various content related to the board. Its the folder of the board owner of /hover/, presented as is at this time

The /hover/ board, the hover folder and content in it is safe for work and overly large files were removed and linked to in text files to reduce the size of the torrent to make it easier to share. Unfortunately the folder is a bit of a mess and could be better organized but it is what it is, maybe someone can organize it better later

The size of the folder is around 7 GB, there are a lot of files, pictures, web pages, pdfs and some videos

If you download the .torrent file via an HTTP site, then it doesn't necessarily follow the rules. (Like using an IPFS gateway vs. IPFS directly.)

(I think TLD domain names like .net can't contain an underscore.) swfchan.net not only contains the threads, but also thumbnails and images of the SWF files!

Attached pic is an image which I think is from some imageboard. It has a filename of "1591319300298.jpg" and has been archived.[4]

In the past I think I had a situation where I had to install something from a set of files. No instructions or useless info, so after asking duck.ai and following that chatbot's instuctions, it worked.

The 4chan board /f/ shutdown in 2025, only archives of it remain and no new posts can be made. Let's make sure that archives of /f/ are as complete as possible! (swfchan.net continues to exist and be updated as of late 2026.)

== Data re-creation ==

Everything is split into reasonably-sized files. Each ZIP is smaller than 2 GB, and after extracting, most files are smaller than 200 MB. These ZIPs are in TorrentZip format. This means that -- if you don't are about seeding -- as long as you keep a record of which ZIP files contain which files, you can extract them and delete the around-2-GB ZIP. The around-2-GB ZIP file can later be re-created identically from the set of files/paths/data with 7-Zip and trrntzip.

I remember in the past when this was at 100%. I know that at least one peer downloaded all of it. Maybe two. Even if one or two did download it, that means basically nothing in terms of it being 100% online and available 6 months or 2 or 3 years later.
