ZenKowa chapter 11 summary.

It opens on Kurumi's classmates and teacher. The closing ceremony happens, but the vice-president has to do the speech because Kurumi ran off.

Get a double page spread of the girls lighting sparklers. There's some unknown girl who looks a bit punkish. It doesn't show her face. Maybe someone from Naoi's past?

Kokoro gets walked home by T-Shirt girl. Turns out she was one of the girls in the flashback in chapter 7, so she's also a childhood friend of Kokoro and Kurumi. Turns out her name's Akane Mori. Seems like she'll spend more time with Kokoro over the summer.

It cuts to Kurumi and Naoi who are eating at McDonald's. Kurumi talks about going to cram school, going home etc. which leads Naoi to question if she's getting ditched again. They then go to Kurumi's house together. Kurumi's mom is missing, so she calls her grandmother. Kurumi plays it cool to keep from worrying her grandma. Kurumi breaks down and tells Naoi about her past. See a flashback of her parents arguing, then her dad's gone. Apparently, her mother thinks she made a mistake in her past (getting married maybe and not being successful herself???) so she forces Kurumi to become a sucessful woman in the future. Kurumi cries and Naoi hugs her, but Naoi's thinking how happy she is that Kurumi's like her now.

They leave the house and walk around together. Naoi mentions her part-time job. Then asks Kurumi on a date so that they can stay out late together, which flusters Kurumi. It cuts to the phone at Kurumi's house which is Kurumi's teacher wanting to set up a parent-teacher conference. Isanuma and possibly her parents will also be there.

End chapter.

Think we'll see Isanuma's parents?

Retconned into also being her childhood friend. They live super close by each other. And Akane is also getting a part-time job for summer break, which is likely the one at Kokoro's family's shop in chapter 9 considering she thought she should've brought up the job to Kokoro before they parted ways.

Co-dependence. Naoi clearly has abandonment issues. Now that Kurumi went through something similar, Naoi realizes Kurumi will development abandonment issues and is latching onto that to make Kurumi never leave her. Funnily enough, it wasn't done on purpose at first. Naoi just so happened to be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of Kurumi's mother's actions.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about the latest ZenKowa chapter and volume. Going back and changing chapter 7 to add a random classmate to their backstory and then have that girl talk like she's known both Kokoro and Kurumi for years just felt so off. It really feels like parts of the story are being made up as it goes along and it's very noticeable.

As for the story overall, I think Kuwabara might pull a reversal of expectations and have Naoi get in over her head with Kurumi, who is more mentally unwell than Naoi realizes. She's playing with fire without realizing it. Only the reader realizes Kurumi has had both suicidal and homicidal thoughts during the story. Isanuma showing back up at the meeting with the teacher and Kurumi is likely to go very poorly.

Alternatively, Kurumi pisses off Isanuma again and Isanuma decides to target Naoi instead of Kurumi. Considering her accusations against Kurumi have been seducing her crush, I don't see what Isanuma would consider payback for that turning out well for anyone involved. I think it would be something on a "spike Naoi's drink when she's not looking at her part-time job and then take advantage of her" tier.

It's not ZenKowa, it's the way manga publishing works. The authors are not sure they will survive the 2nd volume axe so they can't add too much stuff they won't have enough time to elaborate. That also means that when they successfully avoid the axe they have to continue a story they didn't plan.

Not that panel. Another panel was changed to put Akane in the flashback when Kokoro talks about people leaving. Retroactively turning a faceless NPC into a current classmate was shoehorned.

And it's so obviously added in later that chapter 11 jokes about it by telling the reader Akane's been friends with Kokoro since elementary school with an arrow pointing just in case people missed that it was the same girl.

As funny as it'd be, the appearance of Akane makes me think it might go in a different direction. More like Kokoro and Akane are out on a delivery for the shop and see Kurumi and Naoi on their date together. Maybe even see them kiss.

Kurumi's also undergoing a gradual process of realizing her giving into everyone else's desires wasn't a good thing and that they weren't really even deserving of such effort to begin with. Her mom already showed her true mindset with this chapter. The teacher will likely be "unmasked" at the meeting mentioned at the end of the chapter. And if Kokoro sperges out, Naoi can reveal the stunt Kokoro pulled with the letter to show that Kokoro wasn't above manipulating Kurumi to get her way.

Alternatively, Kokoro starts to view Kurumi as a lost cause and shifts her obsessive affection to Akane, which if Kurumi sees it, realizes Kokoro's attachment to her was fickle to begin with.

I thought that the manga had a pretty good romantic development for a side yuri plot in 23 chapters. The focus of that yuri was more on the childhood friend realizing the extent of her feelings and then getting supported by the two other girls because it was obvious that the MC already cared about her. Depending on how the last chapter goes, I think the series could have a satisfying pay-off (although, now that I said that, it's probably just going to go back to the status quo).

Watanugi is more of a crude story with lots of sex jokes, very little mangaka autism and the ecchi is also a lot more shameless outside of the actual sex panels. It's lasting longer because CUNE doesn't really axe stuff unless it's doing terrible bad and Kurou is willing to continue it since his main source of profit are illustrations he sells.

It's a fairly common system.
And you can use silver coins that get as part of the subscription for those chapters. Otherwise just wait the few weeks until the chapter is viewable for free.

Thanks. Not familiar at all with the site. I managed to read an older chapter by receiving a "charge" (probably daily?) or something. But it doesn't change the fact the latest chapters can only be bought by real money / gold coins. Thanks again for the heads up. You also don't get better at translating. Not only do you have to have a strong grasp of the source language, you also need to be a proficient writer in the target language and understand how to transfer most information between the languages.
Additionally it's rather time consuming to translate, especially when considering how much money you get. It's more time efficient when everybody interested learns the language instead.

How on earth does that make sense when one person putting in 3000+ hours to become fluent enough to translate for thousands of consumers is a much more efficient net use of time than all of those consumers all spending 1000 hours to get to a baseline proficiency?

There are 3 skills you've described: fluency in the target language, proficiency in the original language, and the ability to convey concepts across languages. Assuming most translators don't have 1000 hours of reading under their belt that's still lots of time spent becoming confident in all 3. It might not have been conscious learning, but that doesn't diminish its value.

Even the most obscure yuri manga has over 1000 followers on MD if it's being actively translated. The most popular have hundreds of thousands of readers across multiple sites. This is how skill investment works the world over: one person masters it so the rest don't need to bother. That's the opposite of a waste of resources. Now if we're simply talking about reading then let's not kid ourselves, the majority will trust MTL to do the job and not spend any time learning anything.

The average person who doesn't have a background in Chinese or Korean would struggle to reach N3 with 2-3 hours of study a day for a year, especially without a paid tutor of some sort. And if you're scanlating any half-decent series the number of people reading it will break 1000 bookmarks on Mangadex alone within the first volume, and this is even true for a niche genre like yuri.

The average person is relevant when you're making the claim that it's more efficient to have everyone just learn Japanese. 100~200 hours isn't enough for anything more than a graded elementary book for someone starting Japanese as an EOP. I expect they have some kind of form the publisher fills out when they add the books. For the larger publishers the person in charge might not be in direct contact with the editors so they might end up guessing what fits the most. In some cases it may even be a misclick.
The yuri day promotions tend to have more editorial input and a clearer selection.

There's also Fanza who also have a dedicated doujin section that includes zip/pdf. In my experience DLsite has better deals due to more flexible coupons. Some artists also say that Fanza required extra censorship.
The other usual places may also have it but they use epub with DRM like normal ebooks. For pornographic content they may or may not have further censorship, be sure to check the samples for whiteout on genitals.
I don't have real experience with Melonbooks since a lot of artists only sell the paper version there.

pdf itself isn't a terrible format. It lacks the orientation features of epub but the images itself can be high quality. It depends on how the file export was set up.

Zenkowa chapter 12 summary.

Kurumi is hanging around at her house going about her day. The spectre of her mother still looming in her mind.

There's a flashback where Kurumi agrees to meet Naoi in front of a movie theater at 10 PM that Saturday. But before that there's the meeting with the teacher.

The teacher tries to downplay everything, while Kurumi refuses to apologize to Isanuma. Eventually Kurumi stands up and leaves. Turns out to keep the incident quiet from her parents, Isanuma made their teacher agree to take her on a date.

Cut to Isanuma's friends. Turns out the short girl heard rumors that the teacher dates high school girls, and lied and told Isanuma that the girl he was seen dating was Kurumi. Tall girl panics and wonders why she lied to them, but she won't answer. Isanuma shows up and tells them about her upcoming date with the teacher. Tall girl panics again, but short girl takes Isanuma with her while lying and saying tall girl can't go too since she's busy with something.

Cut to Kurumi waiting for Naoi. Naoi's late. Kurumi wonder's if Naoi was playing her and plans to go home. Some guys start harrassing Kurumi so she runs off. She hears someone yelling and sees who she probably doesn't realize is Naoi's dad about to hit Naoi and is shaking her down for money. Kurumi runs up and gets between them. Chapter ends with Naoi exclaiming "Yoshizawa-san!"

Most enjoyable Zenkowa chapter in a while. It feels good to see Kurumi enjoy her freedom and have agency in her life for once (even if it's through a bit of PTSD). Also thought she conducted herself well during that farce of a meeting with Isanuma and the shitty teacher. Btw, I'm glad to see the shitty teacher get some comeuppance for being so shitty in the form of blackmail. Also glad to see the black-haired girl we've all had our eyes on for a while finally be ostracized from Isanuma's group. Wonder what will happen to her from here.
But more than anything, the anticipation for the next chapter after that cliffhanger is killing me. I'm sensing a high possibility that Kurumi learning about Naoi's home life will lead to the two moving in together. But maybe that's just wishful thinking.

What version are you on? I have Kindle 2.3.1, Calibre 6.28.1, DeDRM 10.0.3 and KFX Input 2.5.0 and they still work.

i checked the other volumes, and for those kindle gives me x1920 for vol 1 and 4, x1200 for vol 2, x1280 for vol 3 (with a couple random x1920 chapter titles) and lastly x1583 for vol 5 (with x1806 for chapter titles)
so yeah, seems to be a source issue. the epubs you linked back it up if you check each one

i renamed the oddly named "Source" folder to "Original Kindle images" since it contains the unaltered original files. they are quite a big larger than the epubs/cbz since they're jpg quality 100 (no compression artifacts is great), but simply converting the grayscale images to regular png would bring down the size quite a bit
the epubs have png, with grayscale reduced to 64 colors, hence why they're smaller. also added a proper table of contents

It's yuri, but it's yuri content is a little sparse. It mostly focuses on being a gag manga with heavy literary references. And there's a male character, but he is in no way a threat to said yuri.

That all being said, give the anime a try if you're curious about the series. The whole thing can be watched in like 45 minutes.

To be fair YH did have some very explicit ones, including one which looked like YY but one of the girls fingered the other in like chapter 2, but those got axed very fast, I think slowly building the character chemistry with some explicit mentions of yuri is probably the way and then just building it up to one day having the characters confess.

Looking at the comments on Niconico it seems that Kadocomi originally uploaded an uncensored version which is a common occurrence with those two sites.
In this case however there were not only uncensored breasts and sexual acts but directly visible genitals, which as we know isn't allowed in Japan.

There's no chance they can publish this in Japanese.
Even a R18 release with mosaic or censor bars seems doubtful, at least under Kadokawa.
