The only mistake, to my knowledge, in Hogg's presented ideology on guns (at least) is his willingness to accept/promote an age raise to 21. The most absolute fucking piece of shit 'compromise' policy imaginable, especially since most spree shootings (including a number of school ones) are committed by people older than 21, so it wouldn't even be effected. Omar Mateen was 29 ffs, and that was in the same mother fucking state. Adam Lanza would have been 21 in four months, and he shot up a gott damn kindergarten.
It reeks of something politicians like because if these spree shootings continue, at least the high schoolers who are pissed at them and looking into their donors won't be able to arm. IE Marco Rubio is a spineless piece of shit who is afraid of angry high schoolers, but doesn't want to step on the NRA's toes too much. An extra irony is that raising the legal age for purchase of all guns beyond the age of majority is quite possibly the LEAST constitutional reform they could possibly take, but it's politically convenient because it regulates a demographic rather than classes of weapons in general.
Statistically, capping the age for who can own firearms at 18 would be more effective in preventing mass shootings. I shit you not. By-and-large, Columbine is an exception. Geezers are without fail the biggest murderers we've got.
