>>4395726>way better than mygoi disagree. I like their music/band aesthetic better, but the characters and story are hard to take seriously for me at times, and feel like parody at points. Makes Ranna seem normal by comparison, despite her being the designated weirdo in mygo.
I really liked the first few episodes building up on all the stress mutsumi is bottling up, but the end result felt more cartoony when i was hoping for something more angsty and melodramatic.
i feel like Mutsumis arc shouldve focused more on her struggle of constantly being compared to her celebrity parents and had her episode count reduced. it felt really separated from the rest of the story/cast, and the characters treated it like she was just being a little odd and they were wrangling in their autistic sister, instead of their close friend going completely fucking insane. Even her mom was just being cartoonishly malicious about it.
As it stands, there are 2 episodes left and everyone who isn't saki or mutsumi feel like background characters to me. We just got "Uikas" backstory but it feels kinda rushed (although at least theres some yuri there), Umiri is just kinda there, and Nyamu is starting to be fleshed out with her inferiority complex (we'll see if that goes anywhere). Hope by the end some of them feel less like caricatures.
Ave Mujica as a band feels less like a goal, and more like something the characters are just kind of falling back on with none of the band members seeming to be good friends with eachother or having much chemistry, but i guess that kind of makes sense with the whole puppet motif.
I still enjoy the series, just in a bit of a "what shit are they gonna pull this time" kind of way, whereas i was genuinely invested in the character drama of MyGo.
