It's hard to describe her impact back then. In a time of tons of high quality models and titcows like Pam Anderson Gillian was a whole different breed of hotness.
You cannot really describe it to someone who wasnt there back then. Gillian (and young Kate Winslet) was sort of a sex symbol although she never had any professional noods. X Files was such a huge show back then so everybody knew Gillian. Fuck, I myself had a huge poster of her from this shooting here

And unlike Kate Winslet we never really got to see her naked in a movie/tv show which made it even hotter somehow. And she's still such a beautiful sophisticated woman who really aged like wine.
