Acknowledging that was very helpful to making the effort to get to first dates. That whole "got better stuff to do that will actually happen" brainworms, really interfered with having the balls to ask someone if they wanted to see a movie. The PUA sleezeballs will claim that just asking has like a 30% or so of them saying yes. I don't believe that it's that high, but you do have to put yourself out there to have a chance.
TLDR; Demisexual+Geek Syndrome+associated brainworms needed to make extra effort to be social.
