it hit me kinda hard when I heard
she lost her dad not long before I lost mine
she'd made a few posts about her grief and acceptance
and when in went back to read them, they were comforting in a way
I was going to write and thank her for that
but assumed I'd be dismissed as she simp or whatever
and then she did what she did
and I felt doubly bad
both that I didn't actually thank her
and maybe if that little bit of personal connection got through, it might have been enough to help her decide to not do that
it still bothers me a bit, it seems
