>>20424698There's something so dreadfully sad about pictures like this. Thoroughly average-looking cute-ish girls from some random town in some place like Michigan posing for somebody like they're a real model doing some photoshoot. It's like you can see all the hopes and dreams in her eyes, and you can imagine how excited and proud she was getting a "real" picture of herself. And it's all kind of bad and dumb and cheap-looking, and she's just going to marry some guy, have a kid or two, take some defeats in the lifelong struggle with her weight. She'll get divorced and cry and be sad and feel inadequate and rejected.
It's like she's here, in this picture, as happy as she'll ever be, proud of her camera and her looks, excited about all the world has in store for her beyond her dull and kinda crappy life, living in the future. And none of that will work out, because she's not special, and her life will be dull and kinda crappy, and she'll look at this picture and find whatever happiness she can imagining herself living in the past, looking forward to a future she'll never see.
