Getting further away makes it easier to focus so there's better detail. plus you're taking large pictures anyway, so a smaller preview on the camera is going to be way fucking larger on monitor. while her ass is the center of the image, it looks like the wall is in better quality. it definitely looks like you used your flash for lighting, and while it's usually not a terrible thing, this kind of shot needs natural lighting, cause otherwise you get all those ugly looking shadows which can exaggerate features that aren't exactly the nicest to look at. even just turning on like a ceiling fan light and adjusting the white balance is great start.
