Fall/Spring: Flannel shirts, sweaters, jeans. A beanie and a nice jacket to match when I leave the house. Wool socks sometimes.
Winter: Sweaters, the longer and baggier the better. Usually with jeans, but leggings can do the trick with longer sweaters. Wool socks all the time.
I've never really had to attend a formal event, but I think I'm more of a suit type. Which I might wear at my brother's wedding next year. If I need to dress clean, but not fancy, I usually go with a neutral button up shirt, nice pants and shoes, and a belt to accessorize with the shirt.
I guess overall my style is pretty masculine, unless I'm trying to get comfy in the colder times of the year.
