Fun fact, the phenomenon of women having like 8-12 children is a relatively modern phenomenon in the grand scheme of our species' history.
In hunter gatherer societies, women have their first menses at 17-19, and then have 4 children, breastfeeding for years between each (serves as built in hormonal birth control). By the time they've reached menopause, they'd have pushed out 5 children maximum, one or two likely dying in childbirth or early childhood

in 2023 some chinese have succesfully performed it on mice, ie. they transplanted a womb into a male mouse and implanted ivf fertilized egg into it. the male mouse had to had its blood system connected to a female mouse in order to keep the hormones in check. also, the success rate was low.

id say they will have it figured out for humans in ~25 years.
