starting hrt soon.
should i do estrogen monotherapy instead of adding an anti-androgen?
im super scared of the side effects of an aa.
and ive heard that e alone should be enough to properly supress t.

what is ur experience

I started on a low dose with antiandrogens (12.5mg cypro) and raised my e by 2mg every few months for the first year until i could move to injections.
i still generally recommend this to people since getting T suppressed properly is *the* most important part of HRT in the first couple years or so and mono can be a little more finnicky to get right. with that said, mono should be the goal.
if you're a burger, dont even bother with spiro. just diy with cypro or bica.

if you insist on low doses + antiandrogens, do injections still, just lower doses. don't waste money on pills, save them for breast augmentation if you want bigger breasts so much. there's 0 proof that estrone is beneficial for breast development, there's even a study showing the opposite (better results with transdermal than oral). theoretically it wouldn't make sense too.

i'm no estrone shill, but injections usually suck a bit for low doses (convenience wise rather than medically, it's less bad if you go for anything other than EV but EV sucks regardless....) and i'd go for gels instead because it's generally cheaper than e pills. but i generally agree with you
