I’m an American, and liberal Americans see Canada as some kind of utopia while leftist Americans tend to hate the place for being “fake progressive”.
I feel like Americans of all political stripes don’t really assign a moral agenda to Australia the way many do with Canada and just see it as the land of outdoorsy British people.
However, I’m sure if you asked most American trans women if they’d rather be in Australia or the United States right now, they would say Australia, so obviously Americans who over-glamourize Australia do exist.
