>>39732103okay so like yes being overweight/obese can definitely cause health problems, the most important to young people IMO being joint issues. in fact many recent studies, including huge ones like the CALORIE study, suggest that even small amounts of weight gain that don't even escape the normal weight range can cause large increases in metabolic disease risk factors and can contribute to normal weight obesity.
that being said, your post is reminding me of a phenomenon that i will rant about for a second before going to bed
anafags (and i'm not saying the anon i'm replying to is one, obvi, cuz they didn't say anything that would imply that) do this thing where they call anything beyond skelly tier fat, which is understandable given their perception issues inherent to their disorder. but often times i see them justify their preference for thinness by claiming that it's motivated by health concerns. while i think this is a post-hoc rationalization for something that originates as an aesthetic preference, that's not my main problem. if you say that being fat is always bad for your health and also say that being at a weight which is medically normal is fat, you're saying that anything that isn't anamaxxing is unhealthy. which is so obviously fucking moronic on its face that it actually pisses me off. especially when so many of these people will refuse to exercise at all because they're paranoid about getting too bulky. don't call me unhealthy for having a bmi of 20 when you have paper mache bones. like this shit is so idiotic that it transcends the mental illness defense and becomes the horrific combo of mentally ill shitbrain
