I knew someone who used to work at a care home and it sounded fucking miserable. yes the old people will be mean because half of them are miserable and mentally declining and waiting to die and want to take it out on the people around them. no you will not feel or look cute cleaning some 90 year old's soiled bed sheets.

The worst part about working at a care home is the co-workers. Catty cis women who hate their job and just blabber on and on and on about how everything is shit. Say or do anything wrong and you're the thing they blabber about for the next months. I can only recommend the job if you're one of them or if you do only night shift and work alone.

honestly care homes will take anyone as long as you don't have some absurd police charge. It's honestly a fine job to have as a trans girl and the residents usually dont seem to clock you. Only thing is the job ranges from being incredibly chill and basically watching movies all day to having to rangle an old person who is being the worst.

I’m scared to apply, I haven’t had a job in awhile and that was stocking shelves. It sounds like a lot of work and responsibility…idk if I can handle the pressure.

I was once pushing a grandpa on his wheelchair at a hospital and we went past a hon worker. Grandpa whispered to me: ''I think that was a MAN!'' with a shocked gasp. It was funny.

My mom was a personal care assistant and she really took to it and enjoyed the job. People aren't all mean a lot of them are still sharp, funny, interesting etc, but there will for sure be some obstinate old fuckers that will give you trouble. It's rewarding though in many ways and pays good if you have a sense of humor about it. Give it a shot you might like it!

I'd have to ask her she's retired now and I don't see her that often. She used to tell me a little about it though I think pretty much every kinda of gunky goopy thing inside a human being you will have to deal with at some point. How often though I do not know.. evidently it wasn't bad enough to make her quit however
