one way to know that u pass for sure is if ppl just casually say how they hate trannies while ur present, other tells might include ppl saying shit like "oh so youre trans?? i wouldve never guessed", usually theyre genuinly suprised when they say such things

You can never fully understand someone's intentions, their thought patterns, what they really mean when they say something, etc. There's this hard shell that surrounds our brains called a "skull" that prevents us from ever knowing someone's true intentions. You can either learn to accept this fact, or spend your entire life spiraling deeper into depressiong and anxiety while you vainly attempt at drawing blood from a stone.

I appreciate the fundamental unknowability of other people’s psyches, but how am I actually supposed to cope if I can never know how people perceive me? I hate the idea that my identity is open to debate, that my entire conception of my self is constructed by other people and so volatile as a result. Is this something unique to trans people, or do cis people feel like their existences are built on equally shaky grounds? I feel like I can’t ever truly say ‘I’m a man’ or ‘I’m a woman’ with any confidence, because either way people will dispute me. It’s exhausting. I hate the idea that I might have a boyfriend whose friends and relations might debate whether he’s a homosexual for being with me. I just want to live normally.

Why do you think men spend so much time posturing and peacocking? Doing stupid, self-desctructive things in attempts at looking like a badass, like an alpha male, etc. Why do you think body builders exist? Why do you think women wear makeup? Why do you think people say things like "what will people think if they see me doing this?" "don't tell anyone you saw me like this"?
Better yet, why should it matter?

People being free to think whatever they want means people can think things that you don't like. If you spend your entire life so deeply concerned about how others percieve you, you will never be satisfied. I can’t really switch to a job like that because I’m already embedded in my career, but I do find that in daily life if people refer to me in third person then it’s as female. I was on a train the other day and lost something and a mid-50s couple were saying ‘oh no, it looks like she’s lost something, etc, etc’, and the husband asked if I needed help. It’s all so confusing, I think I’m maybe autistic because I can never understand whether people are just being nice.
