Even basic shit like groceries is getting more and more expensive, while the quality of produce is going down. Even if you buy directly from farmers the veggies simply aren't as good as they used to be 20ish years ago, less nutrients, worse taste, you name it.
Then there's the social media aspect, the highlights of people's lives are presented as totally normal every day occurrence. Don't get me started on filters and other shit. You end up comparing yourself to all those people, you feel inadequate.
So all this leads to disenfranchisement, worse self-worth, depression, etc.
