In my anecdotal experience Mom NTR works “best” if the focus is on the relationship between mother and son and the cucking from that angle. It often is a romantic/incestuous relationship, so the plot can double as a “standard” NTR too, but it doesn’t have to be.

There isn't usually much focus placed, if any, on the father, because at that point it's just regular NTR.
