It's why even well done interpolation that reduces the artifacting of generating the between frames to an absolute minimum just looks bad.
That's why there is even a concept of "overanimating" things. If there was "nothing wrong" with animating at that then bigger studios would be doing it all the time since they have the money, like disney, but they don't.
The only way I could ever think it would work visually is for a slow motion effect in a scene, otherwise everything is too smooth looking if the characters are moving in realtime, it looks surreal as hell.
