Current series are:

I doubt that Guilty will ever allow such risky contents to be imported to the west.

As for an unofficial translation ... it has always a chance of happening, but the chance of that happening is quite low.

You would need to:
1.) create from the scratch tools that extract / reapply the text threads - as another anon mentioned above - and since, Guilty is using there own created Willplus engine for their vn, that would be difficult since you would need to dissemble the source code of the entire vn code, and slowly one line at a time try to understand what each line of code is doing - and an entire Toriko game probably has quite a few thousand lines of this 'code'.
2.) Additionally during the disassemble process you would need to remove the various protections surrounding the game files, which are only bypassed, but still present in the game.

TLDR ... Translating a game is a time consuming process that would probably need a year (or more) of intensive work ... and I think only a masochist or really dedicated fans - that also understand what they are getting into - would be willing to take this task... for free.

Well since we have a couple days till PO and website to be up, with the game to be released in 2 months, what are some expectations on story and characters?

Since the theme is sisters, wonder if we would see the return of two or more female characters in one scene before DLC. Rather missed opportunity to not have closed relationship characters be in the same scene like Shion/Kanon and Nanami/Nao. At least the Nightmare series have plenty of Setsuna and Yuuka together.

Would be interesting though cliche if they get a male step father or relative to be one of the antagonist, since realistically those closest tend to be abusers.

Apart from that, like you I would like to see some multiple females and males action considering the title, especially in the other - not MC - bad ending heroine routes...

Although I still remain skeptic that it will actually happen, considering the previous wasted opportunities, but hopefully the Nightmare project has changed Guilty's mind regarding those types of scenes...

As for the rest ... I just hope that Shimari is going to continue the trend of Kizuna where every heroine had more then one gangbang scene and we won't return to the 'single male antagonist - victim routes that we had in most of the previous Toriko games...

Yeah as the other anon mentioned, its unlikely for Guilty to officially release a Toriko game in the west due to content. Guilty does not want to put up with what Illusion had to go through when folks found out about Rapelay.

That being said, I can maybe see Guilty releasing one of their vanilla games. The content is pretty tame so they don't need to worry about backlash. Question then becomes is it worth their time and effort to translate and release in the west. They would need to be sure to make a profit on their investment.

Hm ... does anyone else want Guilty's Toriko series also starts using a map / heroine choice system ... after the MC loses her 'purity' , so that we could 'defile' the heroines in the order that we want, instead of being forced to go through the heroines in the order Guilty wants us to go through, where usually the most interesting sub heroine is the last one in the order.

After all, it's not like Guilty hasn't been doing that in their vanilla series and while I'm aware that Toriko story is portrayed from the 'female' perspective, and from the 'narrative' perspective the MC doesn't have many 'choices', but still ... having the capability to chose the heroines in the order that you want, would definitely give some additional points to the Toriko series, imo at least.

I believe as well the older games before Toriko and Tegome ni Sareru Kyuunin no Otome allow switching of routes after every scene because of the male POV.

I would say the Toriko series linear and minimal branching route choices is why there is the NMS feature in place, so player can mix n match their scenes of choice. This also allows their writers to focus on story progression of focus character rather than considering how different perspective need to change the pacing.

Though it would have been interesting to see it work in Shirabe Refrain right around Nanami downfall and ramifications to everyone at once.

Yeah, although the heroine relations are pretty close to the Shirabe heroine relationship chart, where half of the cast Nao, Mai and Tsubaki were related to each other..

So it's not like Guilty hasn't put closely related heroines in their game before, although not to the extent that Shimai has...

Still, if we take into consideration the older Guilty games that have been released, I think that Shizuru from Toriko Hime and Miu from Helter Skelter might surpass the numbers that Nao had.

After all, Shizuru had a daily life of being 'used' by at least a few hundred male prisoners, while Miu was used by an entire village (and ended in a hospital, in a pretty broken state, in her 'good' ending.)

Basically, what I want to say is that I think the heroines from the older Guilty games had a much more 'tougher' experience tougher experience compared to the recent, modern ones ... although, hopefully after the Nightmare project games something is going to change in that area...

I always hope that games will be as "rough" as they used to, but I think that misrepresents the frequency of the really bad endings for the women. There's across dozens of games and twenty years, there are only a few ending paths where the women are forcefully held as sex slaves with no end in sight.

- Gang Rape 1 - All of the women have an ending where they are in a dungeon cell, chained up and violated months later. One woman's hear is like a full year's longer.

- Helter Skelter - Just generally rough. They are there, and there is mostly no hope as they watch their family members suffer the same fate.

- Toriko Hime is just the roughest of the Toriko games.

The Nightmare games are a nice step-- the women get it much rougher from the get go and there are thousands of fucks before there's a chance at a happy ending. Toriko is unfortunately "light", and the idea of a woman being auctioned off or chained to a bed is just not the series goal.

Yukari is the only developer that consistently gives really grim endings without resorting to goro or a budget RPG release.

If you mean the recent games from the Toriko games and the Nightmare project series then I would say that generally ... since a detailed list would still take too much time, imo to make, the Nightmare project heroines and the Chigiri and Kizuna heroines and after that maybe the Shiarbe Refrain heroines would be pretty high on the list , since from what I remember, the other Toriko series have been slightly more tamer in that regard...

For the non-DLC, it looks like Kizuna is the roughest, with most of the women getting a 10-person gang rape in their stories, before they are really broken. Refrain really saves it for the DLC.

I dug back in to the Toriko series after playing only a few on their original release (or trying to and being unimpressed), and the wide availability of the DLC has likely really helped their reputation. The focus on huge gangbangs is an obvious plus, but they also really help solidify the series as about rape and extortion rather than blackmail of tremendously stupid heroines. The scheme in Kizuna is pretty good? Maika and Yoko's father figure will be murdered in the hospital if they don't do as the villains command. Same with Shirabe, with Nao's sister being explicitly threatened overseas. Nao doesn't have a choice.

Yugami is still bad, even with the DLC. Shizuku is helped out by the DLC but only a little, with the final group scene really cementing that they are unwilling sex slaves on the boat, and no, there is no escape for them. There is no choice, and there is no hope.

Having a variety of endings and variety of outcomes is important to prevent it from being monotonous. There are many ways for heroines to fall, and the games in the series that that are better regarded are the ones that have a variety of endings and tones. Kizuna, Refrain, and Kusari have many paths, endings, and escalating gangbangs, while Shizuku has a bunch of endings that are basically the same (they are prostitutes on a boat, the end).

Plot and character arcs are at least part of what sets games apart from movies and still art.

Kizuna is one of the strongest games in the series. It has fewer plot branches, but has a much stronger blackmail and extortion theme. The basic premise is that there is a famous All-Girls Academy called Saint Ruri's. Maika is the headmaster's granddaughter, but that fact is held secret for some reason. The grandfather gets poisoned and hospitalized, adn the Tendou group seizes control of the school. Suspecting foulplay, Maika and her friends seek to uncover the truth. Unfortunately, playing "Junior Detective Club" against a bunch of mobsters involved in prostitution, murder, and drugs is doomed to failure, and the five women fall and fall hard. The blackmail and extortion themes are at least semi-plausible, with the mob in a position to pull the plug on Maika's grandfather the moment she defies them. The Tendo family holds the women at knife point and makes it clear that if there is any defiance, the friends and family of the women are goners.

There is a lot to say about the art, but what is really of note is that the game leans hard into the gangbang and gangrape theme in a way that several of the other Toriko games have not. In their main arcs, each woman gets a 10+ gangbang. The DLC solo scenes offer 50+ gangbangs, and the group finale presumably sees each of the women join the triple-digit club. The DLC chapters do not logically follow from the specific endings in the main game, and are vastly darker than the series usually sees. Perhaps that is why I thought the game was pretty good at launch, and think it is an all-time great now.

I am likely going to write some more on the series. I have been documenting my quick runs through the games, which helped me make the attached tier list of how many men per day the Toriko women are forced to fuck in their worst-case endings.

Some notes on the tier list:
Nao, Mio, and the Kizuna women get it worst. In the real world, it is virtually impossible for a women to get fucked that many times in one day, but the writers of the game are smart enough to realize that the key shortcut is bondage and a school setting. A hot woman, bound in place, near hundreds of hormonal men is the key to pushing past 100.

The series tends to go soft on the petite or cute characters, but the two recent games in the series give it to the petite girls as rough as the worst in the DLC endings.

Shirabe basically isn't a gangbang game. Shion, Shiori, the old Chigiri characters, and the experienced woman from the boat game are exceptions as well.

There are a few reasons that the games following Chigiri were viewed as less gangbang heavy.

1 - Lots of the roughest gangbangs are in the DLC. Mimako has a bunch of one-guy scenes in the main game, plus two five-person gangbangs near the end after she has fallen and is super happy about. This is easily the easiest era for playing Japanese Eroge without knowing any Japanese. AGTH and VNR both had a lot of problems, but for now Textractor is a miracle. The guy doesn't work on it anymore, but it supports almost every major engine for the last twenty years, and Google and Bing are both good and free translation services (that you'll need to switch between if you ever get spam limited).

The wording within moans is impossible to decipher without being fluent in Japanese, sadly. "P...lease.... he...lp....me..." is easy to read in English, but in Japanese, written phonetically, it does not play well with translation software.

Still, guilty games likely benefit more than most Eroge in terms of heightened eroticism from having even a basic understanding. The games get dismissed as "blackmail", but no, this is really dark extortion plots. Mio's DLC fall is based on the villains threatening to have her overseas sister raped or murdered. Kyouko's fall in Chigiri hinges upon the villains threatening to sell the sisters off as slaves overseas. Youko's initial rape in Kizuna is an act of pure punishment for snooping around. The villains don't like her eavesdropping, so they just gangrape her as punishment to beat her down into submission.

That type of scenario is easy to pick up with Textractor and the automatic translations.

Strengths / Relatively Highlighted Fetishes

A Review of Toriko no Shirabe -Refrain-, Part One

Refrain's focus on Forbidden/Objectionable content makes it hard to ever recommend exploring in depth. There's some masterpiece scenes mixed in with awful stuff, and I wish subtitled clips of the scenes were on porn streaming sites so people could just appreciate the greatness of the best scenes without having to install the game on their computers. I am going to focus most on those great scenes.

Best Scenes (part 1 of ????)
- Nao's pre-fall gangrape. This is a genuine masterpiece of a dark eroge porn scene, and exemplifies how far beyond the competition Guilty is at making erotic rape scenes from the female perspective. Nao is told to report to the same all men's school that she has terrible memories of back from her own days as a Toriko heroine. Reporting to the music room, she meets the twins and a swarm of men that belong to their group. She is told she has to fuck every man in that room by the end of the day, or the twins and the many men that are in their thrall will turn their attention back towards Nanami. With that, the roughly two dozen men in the room descend upon Nao for a sexual feast that will last for hours.

Best Scenes, continued-- Nao's pre-fall giant gangrape
The way none of that matters because Nao loses county and doesn't finish every dude off in time, and doesn't realize she failed or that is the reason why the twins drug and imprison Nanami and have her gangbanged and raped hundreds of times over the course of days by a steady stream of men.

The way the number of men in the room decrease over time as they their fill and go home for the day. The way her attitude changes over the course of the hours (or about 15 minutes to takes to play out, in-game). It is not clear how much she was raped in the canon path that leads to Refrain, but it was enough to give up on men and relationships for years, and she had hoped it would be for life. That's no longer the case. This is the beginning of the end for her, and after this Nanami is so far rekt that she betrays Nao, leading Nao's new career as a Sex Educator.

This is a truly great H-scene, and one of the best in the series. Nao's voice is so erotic, and as multiple men comment in the series, raping her is like playing a musical instrument.

Best Scenes (????)
- Nanami's Big Gangbang: This is a scene that has multiple meanings, as we see only see how it plays out in Nanami's good end. Near the end of her path, Nanami is dragged into a warehouse, drugged up, and gangbanged out of her mind for hours, taking multiple cocks in every orifice in what has up until now been a mostly one-at-a-time plot path. The men are faceless and without dialogue, just meat rods that belong to the twins' army to fuck on command as needed.

It is a really rough scene but demonstrates that Nanami isn't really one to break easily. Nanami is really such a great character. I really loved those countdown voice clips they did up to the release. Of course, there is such worry in me as well, but this scene can also be ... a part of the main game.

After all 'Shimai' might be slightly different then the previous Toriko games, since:

1.) Out of the 5 heroines - Yuna is the only additional wheel, since the other 4 heroines are 2 pairs of (I think) blood related sisters.

The first one is the Misaki - Hyouka sister pair
The second one is Kazuho - Futaba sister pair.

2.) Based on the plot description Yuna and Hyouka are already in the hands of the antagonists ... and have ... most likely, got some pretty high 'usage millage' already.

Due to those points ... it wouldn't be a stretch to assume imo that Misaki's 'bad ending' could involve a orgy event with at least Misaki, Hyouka and Yuna in it - and ... it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that Kazuho and Futaba - worried about Misaki's 'behavior' would be dragged into this as well and have their 'second' defloration scenes in a group fuck with the other 3 - already corrupted - heroines.

At least there is still a chance that something like that might occur in the plot.

After all, there have been some older Guilty games, where an orgy event was a part of the main games endings (pic attached) ... instead of being a DLC ... so there is always a chance that Guilty is going to return to that kind of endings in Toriko no Shimai.

From their twitter update, it looks like they're making another DLC path separate from the IF patch. All purchases can download this DLC while the IF patch requires purchase of the luxury version.

So my guess is the IF patch will act as the compilation of store patches that previous games had and this new DLC will be the standard long group scenario.

Toriko No Shirabe Review, Part Four

-Summary-

I don't think I particularly like Refrain. Not only is there a lot of forbidden content that I have no interest in, but there's not many scenes that I find particularly interesting. It is the least gangbang-focused game in the franchise (with only the first Shirabe lagging it), and I don't really care for many of the scenes. Too many of the scenes with the villain Miyake feel the same, and the fat fuck is the only guy in about half the scenes in the game. Most of the rest involve the twins, which are problematic in other ways.

The game does get a lot of points for how much of a step up the CG itself is from the preceding two games, and how solid the extortion and blackmail plot. All four of the women are doomed in all of the bad endings except Aina's, where only her and Nanami end up as fuck dolls. The music and writing are also quite good, with many memorable quotes to describe the hopelessness and degradation.

Nanami is a great protagonist, and Nao's (limited) scenes are great, but her DLC is too much of a retread of scenes from the first Shirabe.

I'd be up for seeing more content with Nanami, Nao, or Aina, as they are good characters and good designs wasted on a bunch of lacking scenes.

Aina's 15 scene is a bunch of homeless spraying her in her face over and over for hours, but she gets her due in the DLC. Nobody loses their virginity in a gangbang, which is unique to the series.

Well, after hearing the heroine voice's I have to say that:

- Yuna is 90 - 95% set in a female slave mentality, so she's already pretty much 'broken' already

- Hyouka is not quite at the level of Yuna, but it's apparent that she has already given up on 'changing' her situation.

- Misaki's voice will take some time for me to get used to it.

- Kazuho seems to be slightly tomboyish - at least that's the impression her voice is giving me.

- Finally Futaba is slightly more childish, high pitched voice then I excepted ... and it's going to take me some time to get used to it.

Misaki's voice is pretty on point in my view. Neutral yet somewhat childish.

I was expecting Hyouka's voice to be a bit more submissive and shy but it works.

I agree that Futaba's voice is more childish and high pitched than expected as well.

Kazuho and Yuna just makes me think of Juri (trendy sempai) and Maika (younger) from Kizuna which doesn't mesh well so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get used to it.

Finally, while it's true that Guilty might have avoided pregnancies in the past Toriko games - the success of Nightmare project - considering they are releasing Motion versions of the first two Nightmare project games, I would say they sold quite well - which, had 'pregnant' scenes might have changed Guilty's opinion on this topic and convinced them to take a risk and add 'pregnancies' to Shimai's plot.

Since Kizuna had about 58 scenes - 44 main game - 14 DLC and a similar number of heroines.

Since, Shimai has the same number of heroines it should have a similar number of scenes for each of them - the problem is that I currently don't know if that's going to actually happen...

Since it primary depends on how Yuna's and Hyouka's routes are going to be portrayed, since unlike the heroines from Kizuna - judging from the plot - those two heroines, won't have their V card at the start of the game.

Well, probably that's the case ... after all from what we have seen Shimai has the chance of becoming the most extreme Toriko series game released so far...

After all we have a heroine (Hyouka) who was adapted simply to become a living onahole for the villains or something similar to that - obviously they haven't had good intentions in mind for her.

Yuna - from the info that I got about her - also seems to have some not good background.

We also have scenes where a heroine (Kazuho) seems to get 'deflowered' in all three of her 'holes' at the same time.

The number of group scenes also seems higher compared to previous games from the Toriko series.

Finally, we also have the possibility of Hyouka being a witness to Misaki's 'initiation' scene - which so far only happened in Kizuna - but this time it has the potential to have a stronger impact since, Misaki and Hyouka are sisters :)

So from what I gathered they are blood related sisters that got separated due to them being adopted into different families and they latter reunite - after some time took place and Hyouka already became 'used goods', due to the villains and Misaki learns about that and becomes 'used goods' as well ... starting the game's plot.

At least that's what I managed to get from the story introduction so I Hope that clarifies things for you :)

Of the 21 scenes we've been shown so far, all but 3 are either multiple dudes or bondage. Two have the submissive sister and one guy in the preview, and the cute side sister has a scene with one visible guy only.

For Kizuna (the roughest until now?) there were fewer shows, six non-bondage or gangbang scenes, and a few used up by plot images that were not scenes.

Yugami no was 9 out 20 in neither category, which reflects the actual game content (half of the plot was non-GB themed).

Comparisons may be moot, as I do not think they show DLC scenes mixed in, and those are all on the rougher side typically.

After looking through the trail ... it's a definite confirmation that Yuna and Hyouka are used goods from the start - since, they have penetrations in the prologue, which the demo seems to, at least partially cover.

Still hope that they are going to show some flashbacks on how both of them lost their virginity.

I also have to say that I liked the attached Yuna outfit :)

From what I see the demo doesn't elaborate on anything for Hyouka or Yuna.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of this has become a part of her "common sense" and that it just hasn't clicked that seeking help is an option or is unable to due to the family's influence.

For Misaki it looks like Hyouka is being used as a hostage.
For Kazuho its the cliche we can ruin your father's company.

They aren't that dark, but it varies from game to game. Most of the paths in the series are flimsy blackmail plots that rely on the women being really goddamn stupid, but the last two (Shirabe -Refrain- and Kizuna) have solid blackmail and extortion plots. There is only ever one "Good End", if the main female protagonist resists getting her friends involved. The moment somebody else is dragged into it things go poorly.

Yeah, that's the 'usual' plot progression of a Toriko game, but things in Shimai might be slightly different, since for the first time in a Toriko series ... we have two heroines, apart from the protagonist ... who are already in the 'hands of the enemy' ....

So, i'm really interested on how Guilty is going to resolve that and what kind of choices we are going to have this time around.

I got interested in these games through the anime adaption of Toriko no Kusari (I’ve been entranced by Yui ever since watching it) and found this thread researching how to play them in English. I had several thoughts throughout that I wrote down and figured I’d share them here:

I wish the one-off girls from the prologue showed up at all later. It’s particularly weird to me that Demura never incorporated the other student he was raping into helping break Mio or Rinka in particular.

I like that the game suggests Demura is Ebinuma’s contact and vice-versa. It makes the routes feel less isolated and enhances the sense that Mio is just a piece in something way out of her control.

On that note, I’m disappointed that only Demura’s route gives a satisfying “Good End” for Mio where she overcomes the villain. In the kidnapping route it’s more that she just endures getting raped long enough for the villains to make a stupid mistake.

Mio’s school route has her best scene and one of the game’s best scenes imo. The CGs of her helpless on the floor are incredible and her entire defloration sequence has a great buildup. The second Konomi mentions the incorrect chemical expenses you know exactly what’s coming and I think the game lets the tension boil over really well. The rest of the route could only disappoint after that though since the situation is absolutely absurd and Mio should really be smart enough to go to the police. The ending is incredible for how quickly it goes over the top (I initially assumed that Demura had been murdered rather than faking his death), how absolutely cheesy it is and how Mio stunts on Demura with the same gas trick he used on her. The bad ending is a little weak simply because the “give up” option is extremely arbitrary. I think a better decision point would have been whether or not to report the drug deal (which Mio does without input on the good end); that way the player is making a choice about an action and the consequences shape Mio’s mental state. As it is Mio just kind of decides she’s cool with things.

The Mio home route doesn’t have the same highs as the school route, but I found the scenario more consistently enjoyable. The sword isn’t hanging over her head as ominously as in the school route pre-defloration but the scene itself is appropriately cruel. The scenario is a lot more plausible and Shiori disables the kidnappers immediately when given an opening, which I appreciated. Highlights include Mio spending her entire weekend immobilized on her own bed as a cum toilet and the bad ending. The idea she would just snap and run away was pretty believable, as was the idea that she would never be able to face herself or her past after abandoning Shiori like that. The only real criticism is that Shiori resolves the crisis entirely on her own and it kind of makes Mio feel like an accessory to her own story.

Yui’s route is the reason I wanted to play the game and it did not disappoint me. She’s the sassy member of the cast during the prologue and that big mouth winds up being her downfall. Her defloration scene is brutal and each subsequent scene is even more so. Takeshi attending her club to rape her in the pool is so cruel, and the ~24 hour endurance session is probably my favorite scene. The fact that she literally bites Takeshi’s dick off in the ending is metal as hell and I really liked that it plays with the idea of a bad ending. The bad guys lose, but Mio’s basically mentally broken from watching Yui get destroyed every day/nearly killing someone and Yui is not doing much better.

Konomi’s route has the body paint swimsuit scene which was incredibly fucking stupid in terms of the plot but hopefully got anyone with that fetish off. It’s not something I’m super into at least. I liked the scenes where Demura preyed on her lack of confidence, and I really liked her ending where he’s done too good a job at breaking her down. Her jacking off on the unconscious Demura’s cock while thinking about Mio was a definite highlight of the game for me.

Rinka’s route really leaned into the aphrodisiacs fetish and a woman being forced to cum, both of which I thought were handled really well. Her defloration scene is awesome (I think Rinka is forced to cum more times before she’s penetrated than Yui gets to in her entire first scene) and almost every scene afterwards is just as hot. Her fall is constantly happening and when she finally starts begging for sex it feels about as earned/plausible as one could reasonably expect. I think it’s also interesting that Rinka seems much stronger emotionally than Mio/Konomi but is the only one who breaks completely into a subservient slave.

Shiori’s route was probably my least favorite and I can’t think of much that was memorable besides her group scene with Mio. I don’t think it’s a good sign when the best part of a character’s route is another character, but I think this route also would have felt less bland if it didn’t have to compare against Yui and Rinka’s much more erotically charged scenarios. I may replay it just to see if I just wasn’t paying proper attention.

People tend talk up games like Sansha Mendan/Kuroinu as being the greats but this blew them out of the water for me. I would rank the routes Yui > Rinka > Mio (Home) > Konomi > Mio (School) > Shiori.
Hopefully this wall of words isn’t completely obnoxious and if anyone has read this far please recommend which one I should play next! I want to work through the rest of the catalog but I’m not sure what a good order would be to keep things fresh.

Depends on how far do you want to go ?

In my opinion the Toriko series (from Chigiri to the latest Kizuna) have a similar level when it comes to cg's and heroine designs.

If you like the heroines being covered in white stuff, I would also avoid the Motion version of Chigiri, since it's the first Motion version that Guilty made and due to that it lost some cum covered scenes that are present in the original.

If want to play the Guilty games older then that ... well so far, I have played only a few of them and they have some slight degradation in cg quality, but they aren't that bad ... at least to me .. and you might have some issues to get them running on a more modern operating system, but even if you play one of the modern titles. if you like slightly darker stories ... like for example, a virgin girl being thrown to prison and being daily used as a male prisoners and sometimes the guards as well ... sex relief tool, then you can still try them.

Attached cg is from that thrown to prison game (Toriko Hime, which has no relation to the current Toriko series)

I appreciate the review. I haven't written my own review for Kusari yet (only done Refrain and Kizuna), but I'd call it the 2nd best in the series behind Kizuna. Much of that depends on how much you like gangbangs, as Shirabe has none in the main plot.

Yugami has some good content but is too long with little escalation for the characters until the end. Yugami is like Kusari with half of the plot being a non-gangbang route.

The boat one is just bad? Not much to say about it other than a cute lead.
