Me and a group of people are making a hentai sex game. Kind of like a trainer/whorehouse/brothel type thing.

How much should the story matter here? Is it mainly about the assets/scenes, or should there be a decent emphasis on story? If so, what would you want that to look like?

If the only gameplay is raising/training simulation, have a short intro giving context on why you're doing it, and not much story needed. Like Slavemaker or Custom Reido.

Hey not sure if you guys played the recent yakuza games but i'd suggest a similar type of the cabbarette club game.
Story lines for special girls. Do you have example of your art ? Take more time for the art than the storyline.

Imo the story only needs to exist enough to instill some sort of atmosphere. You hear often in the NTR threads that people like ntr because the sex is more intense when theres all this backstory

If you're going for a literal hentai look then art and animation quality are the most important to get right, but if you have a novel/fresh/unusally attractive art style I personally tend to be more forgiving. Whether gameplay or story come second depends on what exactly you're going for, but it's usually going to be gameplay/interactivity second and story third.

In my opinion there is a severe lack of well done, easily accessible and interactive Hentai games out there, their are a few games like the "meet and fuck" series in the past that tapped into interactive control of your sexual Hentai experience which really put you in the driver seat. A lot of the better games out there that are interactive usually have either no English translation or you have to jump through a bunch hoops of nonsense downloads to actually play the damn thing. I'd say if you can focus on giving the player full control of their speed, positions etc. It'll make your game well above most. Story should be decent but above all the game needs to be fun. Everything this anon says I agree with. This is straying away from the brothel sim genre, but I always find myself drawn to works that offer a granular level of control over the sex scenes like that, especially when its stuff like simulated groping. Miconisomi, JSK Studio, even Zone's stuff to a moderate degree, as well as many other flash porn games. Maybe it's a control thing.
