Your character skin seem dark and for my experience it happen one when I apply the 4K diffuse mod (not sure what cause it).
So I recommence you delete your current game, download the original game (clean without any mods) from the torrent in the paste and then follow Metagraphy tutorial again.

Extract "HSResolveMoreSlotID (v1.4b).rar" and put all files in the main game folder.
Follow the instruction to install 630Patch (Well, I think the torrent already have 630Patch but just check it with the Resolve, if it's missing then download it), install Sbx 2.5e (follow instruction in the new paste), install WideSlider and IPA. Patch with Resolver to translate the game to English.
>3. Install “HS Linear Rendering Experiment (LRE) 4.0x
Follow instruction from Joan to install HSStandard, and IBL
Now the hard part is download and extract "[All-in-One] 4K skin diffuse initial pack 20170619.rar" in the paste, replace them in the main game folder.
Finally extract LRE4 AAIO.zip, there are three folder here but only pick one. Because you already install 4k diffuse so copy all files in the 4K Pack and replace them in main game folder.
Most of time this step cause something wrong with character skin.
Put HSLRE.dll in the plugin folder.
>4. Install “HS Image Based Lighting (IBL) 5.0x” and “HSExtSave”
Extract "HSIBL.zip" and replace all file in the main game folder, also put HSExtSave.dll in Plugins folder.
>5. Install “[nyaacho & honey D] LRE skin”
Extract "[nyaacho & honey D] LRE skin v3.5.7z", copy "abdata" folder and replace it in main game folder.
>6. Install “[meta] Body Deluxe”
Extract "[meta] Body Deluxe v1.06.zip" , copy "abdata" and "UserData" folder and replace it in main game folder. You can try the "optional files" but leave it for the end to make sure nothing goes wrong.
>7. Install “Cubemap” for IBL
You don't need all cubemap, just download one of them to test, if they're work then you can download the remain later.
>8. Install [meta] LRE Starter Kit 20200101
Finally download and "[meta] LRE Starter Kit 20200101.zip", copy and replace all files in main game.

If you do it correct then this is the result when you open the game (without change anything, include the lightning).
Also if your character face turn red (like sunburn) then use the resolver to fix it like Metagraphy's instruction.

And later he solved missing cubemap but the lightning still darker, it have nothing related to cubemaps, actually it'll work without cubemaps and lightning setting.

I didn't do these steps at all. Meta's guide made no mention of them so I used "From Scratch" out of AAIO as told. I'll re-install and see how it goes.

Installing SBX from Resolve doesn't show it as "Installed (LRE)", instead it stays "Unknown". This happens also when installed separately by .rar file.

Also, what's the real benefit of BepIn? Just a "most-good-stuff-are-here re-pack"? Your guide (and meta's too) omits it altogether.

Not mine actually, I just copy the first post of the previous owner.
But BepInEx or IPA is required to run addition plugins (like boneframework), also the translation of the game. So it must install.
BepInEx have auto Google translate (that mean it translate more but not very accuracy), while IPA is manual translate by user, it's more correct but not everything translated.

Can you please post a screenshot of your Plugins table to the right of the pic? I want to know what versions you got.

This shit is insane because every guide is made at different times, and each all link to different versions of the SAME plugin/tool. I followed the Tor guide and Resolve plugin was spiteful enough to tell me that 0630 is not installed despite installing it just before opening Resolve, along with other hijinx later down the road.

I haven't been following the thread. Why are you using the Tor guide (is it even still up?) instead of the Alt-installation paste (in the OP)? That one is more recent.

Did you have the exe extract the folder contents to your game's directory? You're suppose to extract it somewhere else and take the contents from it manually and paste them over (or just install it through HSResolve, it's seamless).

TLDR: USE the Alt-installation guide and just extract metagraphy's starter kit if you like his LRE preset that much.

If you are not satisfied with the results use another LRE preset or make your own.

Here are all files I downloaded before install the game.
I got main game from new paste torrent, wideslider plugin and 360 patch from new paste mega.
The rest files/plugins got from Metagraphy and Joan, just get the latest version.
1. Extract the "Fully Updated HoneySelect"
2. Extract the "HSResolveMoreSlotID (v1.4b)"
3. Run the "honeyparty_01_plus_0630grt_all", this is the extractor, after extract you got a folder name ハニーセレクトパーティー発売記念追加データ(0630全部入り), go to ハニーセレクトパーティー発売記念追加データ(0630全部入り)\setup and copy all files here, paste them in the main game folder.
Then when you open the HSResolveMoreSlotID it should tell you 630 patch installed.
Also go to ハニーセレクトパーティー発売記念追加データ(0630全部入り)\サンプルデータ集\パーティー衣装カード\ copy the "female" folder and paste it to UserData\coordinate of main game.

Oh yeah, in addtion to that I think metagraphy probably used LRE skins instead of the defaults/4k skins which are naturally lighter. Also his HSStandard settings may be different than the defaults.

For more inform about what you ask before, why Metagraphy not mentioned about BepInEx, you don't need BepInEx if you already have IPA, the main different is BepInEx use auto Google translate, but BepInEx might have some glitch (dunno if it fixed or not) and not like everyone like it. IPA is enough.

I used the Alt-installation up to @h@SECTION 1-A with meta's guide right after. The LRE test model gets dark after pressing F5 compared to meta's example, so I decided to start again.

Does that really make much of a difference? I didn't know it was that much game-changing, as the settings are only on/off switches. It's pretty good and a much needed improvement over default.

Yeah that's the same method I used to install the patch. Resolver treats it as a false positive though so no "tick mark" even though I installed it myself.
I saw them as cubemaps, and might not make a difference, but can you kindly share or link to "Studio 1-4.rar"?

I have another inquiry: If I randomly click on all lighting presets in IBL, the lighting gets fucked up (obviously) but there isn't a reset button anywhere, and the effect persists even after restarting the game. What do?

Metagraphy use cubemap lightning to make the presets, so you must have at least one cubemap.
Depend on each cubemap, the lighting might different.
The preset save lighting setting, pick the IBL Off preset to change it to default, or manual reset from other tabs.
And I have no idea how can the patch fail installed (which is almost impossible), here is video sample: https://streamable.com/tx59gb
I skipped the extracting of the main game because it's take 10 minutes to extract, and sorry for the annoying watarmark.

Reading helps. If you skip this step, of course it's going to look dark.
You also need the studio cubemaps from the same page.

If you installed 4k diffuse AFTER AAIO LRE, reinstall AAIO on top of it, using the 4K folder, then reinstall Metagraphy's preset. This is to clear any data conflicts caused by 4K, especially when playing the main game.

Uhh I haven't made a VNGE scene in forever.

Apparently NodeConstraints greater than 1.0.0 doesn't work with VNGE, the newest version supposedly works with 1.2.0+ but I haven't gotten it to work.

But you're issue is probably something else. I suggest rolling back to v16.0 which is what I use, any version of the newer SSS that comes packaged in newer VNGE's should work. Not to jab at the guy but he probably prefers working on KK and HS2.

Alright /hsg/, I got a shitton of questions:

1. I cannot move the camera with the arrow keys and the mouse at the same time. In older games you could "fly" around by looking with the mouse and moving with the arrow keys, here in HS it is only either or. This issue is in base game and NEO. Is there a fix for this?

2. Is it possible to re-map Illusion-provided keyboard controls? Annoying to click a key that a plugin is also using.

3. Is it possible to disable some of ShortcutPlugin's features? I don't use futa keys or female piss and I'd rather bind another key to it. I tried deleting the lines from modprefs.ini but they just get re-added.

4. Is there a way to remove DoF blur from ShortcutPlugin's POV? No settings for it in modprefs.ini, plugin menu "N key by default", nor is the game graphics settings useful. This effect is taken without IBL. TogglePOV plugin unfortunately doesn't work as it just messes up the FOV and removes the girl's hair mesh.

5. Is there any difference if the base game graphics are put to max (5) quality or not while IBL is turned on? It seems like self shadow is the only noticeable difference, I can't notice anything else, but I feel like I'm wrong here.

2&3) go to modprefs.ini in the \UserData folder, you can alter keybinds for ShortcutPlugin there (if you want to disable a mapping, just leave the space after the = blank)

4) You're sure IBL is off? Check the Perception settings just to make sure, because iirc ShortcutPlugin doesn't have a DoF feature.

5) Afaik, self shadow is the only parameter that isn't overtaken by IBL, so your assumptions are correct.

Scene compatibility is always a bitch, whether HS1 is popular or not. I updated both HSPE and Renderereditor to their new versions and my custom-colored Office map had all the tweaked walls turn permanently transparent. So I had to basically spawn a new Office map and align it with the old one, and recolor the walls.

Its the good old "Minecraft" problem back when it was beta, where your careful and elaborate construction project could get nuked completely by a next patch or a new mod.

If you have HSPE, you can Ctrl+click multiple IK bones to move at the same time in the HSPE menu. So you can move those hips or those shoulders at the same time.

Difference with these two methods:

FK is like taking an action figure and turning its limbs by turning its joints. Example arm movement, you turn around the shoulder, then elbow, and finally wrist. Weakness is sometimes its hard to measure the distance you need between the limb and whatever point B its supposed to reach, so it requires a lot of back and forth tweaking.

IK is like taking a multi-jointed doll figure and changing its positions by grabbing and dragging with your fingers instead. Example you grab a wrist and drag the entire arm from the wrist, turn the wrist, and finally correct the elbow if it has bent unnaturally. IK doesn't have the same weakness because you use shoulder- and wrist point to put the hand where you want first, and then fix it to make it look natural after the fact. Which is why I prefer it, saves time. Naturally FK is better for certain bones that can only turn in place and are not that easy to drag around (hair, boobs, fingers etc.). Thats why FK&IK is the best option IMO. IK for limbs and bigger bones, FK for the tiny bones.

No. Male character creator in HS is quite limited. You'll be better off creating a more masculine Female character (men generally have wider thorax, wider shoulders and more narrow pelvis than women), then you can add a femboy pecker by using an Accessory and placing it on the waist and coloring it to the skin color.

Or better you take your femboy to StudioNeo (with mods), and attach a baby pecker (Basic shape Oval recolored to human skin) or you attach the dildo with Renderereditor removing the texture so you can recolor it. The HS Item Dildo has a lot of FK points, which means you can bend it in a lot of ways, unlike the basic static penis which is always straight and stiff. Pic related a quick example made in 15 mins.

Get Joan's HSPE mod and you can even do those futanaris with massive cocks and breasts the size of zorb balls if you're into stuff like that.

rip the model after posing it in studio, then modify the model to not have any hidden faces by deleting any faces that are obscured by clothing (assuming you'll use clothing), and then attach the cloth vertices to the skin.

Once you have this, the next part depends on what kind of 3D printing you'll do.

For normal 3D printing (as in using filament), you'll need to make sure you cut the model to not have anything floating (cut the arms/legs/head off torso), and make sure that nothing as too much of an extreme overhang, nor at an absurd angle. Once you get all that done, you should be good.

For resin bath based 3D printing, you don't need to worry about overhang, angles, or such. Just follow the above steps until you get to the cutting part.

If you plan on making a large figure, I'd suggest you work on one part at a time (single leg/arm, head, etc.). This way, if your print fails, you won't be fucked out of plastic.

Also, color data is null, as you'll need to paint the figure afterwards.

The pastebin is outdated, and so is the repack.
I'm the anon who was suffering with installation this thread and the last (>>5921349), and with my game running properly now with help from kind anons, I can best summarize the installation process thusly:

1. There's the easy way (STN/Bepin repack) and the hard way (manual with IPA).
2. The repack contains mods and plugins. Not all of them are up to date or work properly, and doesn't look as nice. However, it has everything the basic coomer needs besides clothes mods to polish his bishop.
3. The full manual installation as indicated in the pastebin Section 1-B is the only true way to ascend. You will have to download the latest versions of each of the mods and install them in the EXACT order. Messing up along the way means you'll have to start all over again, so keep backups before every major plugin. Run the main game and the character maker so that you can see how the installation works at each step.

Be prepared to spend an hour or so installing the game. Once it's installed, you will want to make a backup then, and make more backups every time you add a big clothes/body/skins mod that may ruin your existing set-up.

new to using HS, for some reason, when i use the roy12 mai shiranui top, pulling the bottom half off removes the texture for the vag, it's just a smooth surface. has this glitch happened for anyone else? i'm using the repack, but downloaded the roy12 mod separately

1)Manually move it in place, then Ctrl+click the bone, then ctrl+click the item and group them up. You can snap an item to a character by inputting the same Move coordinates.
2)On the bottom left theres a button. If not, enable the bottom left buttons from up right Option-button. The crosshair is there for the camera, as moving around items doesnt need a crosshair.
3)Get the HSPE mod that allows you to move, rotate all bones individually. "Pussybone" was called Kokan01 if I remember it right, and you can find it under hips. HSPE mod is heavily recommended, the mod is fun as fuck and allows you to do a ton of /d/ or even /guro/ stuff.

Weird, it should enable the camera crosshair when you activate the button. Then try pressin right click and moving the camera around. You dont really need a crosshair for moving anything else because you can just click and drag the colored arrows to change things regardless of where they are in the visible screen. That or use the numbers on the bottom left, useful for doing really small and really big changes.

Nope, but you can also edit facial features by simply editing its bones. I use it often to make more extreme eyebrow positions. Simply make a shortcut for the facial bones you edit the most so its easy to access them.

I remember on the old PC I had a mod, which added 3 accessories called "met_hair_for_filling" or something like that. Basically those 3 were bases for hair (or just very short hairstyles if you look at them as their own thing), which were very useful in making certain hairstyles (especially ones that don't exactly fit the head fully) much better (more natural, if you will).

Obviously you need to practice using blender. You don't need to actually make anything, but you need to familiarize yourself with the tools and shortcuts so you don't spend hours trying to figure out how to do X thing.

Then you need to familiarize yourself with the importing process by making studio items or accessories.

From there you can decide whether or not you want to make clothes.
