You can go to housing map via boat at either the the dock in ruined town or at the beach where you start. Pretty sure you can't fast travel to other map, but you can fast travel to spots marked via red flag from the map (M or from your smartphone)
You can't import map without mod (I think) but you can download housing layouts from Illusion's downloader (needs VPN) or some other third party sites then put it in the housing layout folder.

Only thing you can import from online are buildings made by players. Not maps. There is no map support for main game.

asking out of desperation here but are there any scene manager mods? there was one for honey select and i can't find an equivalent in AI. i can put scenes into their own subfolders but i'm 90% sure you have to restart the game every time you move a scene to get the game to acknowledge it

Despite its dumb layout, it handholds you through using the animation portion of VNGE without touching any python scripting. The guide should work whether you're playing HS/PH/KK/AI, but the sample scenes there are for HS.

AI is getting access to nodes soon™, which should let you make easy groping animations whether you're doing it with pistons or vnge.

There isn't and because of good reasons, a lot of good HS cards are heavy in use of mods and many of those use head mods that are incompatible with many mods that were made for default body.

Head and body model that AI has is different that of PH and HS. Especially the head hence even if you get properly converted values, the way various facial features behave makes it incompatible.

You would have to wait for someone to port HS head and body to have ability to transfer characters. But AI is only 3 months out and HS had over 3 years to get hundreds of gigabytes of mods.

is there a card browser of sorts? it gets really wonky doing it through the game, especially when you're mass deleting some cards.
if not, here's an idea: a simple visualizer that loads the char models, no editor capabilities other than change/remove accessories and clothing.

Well... For main game there is plugin that does a trick to improve performance in main game for PCs that have 16GB of more of RAM.

It's pretty much HS, but with a rape storyline and a more polished animation controller, and updated graphics engine.

HoneyPot lets you transfer most mods from HS, but any mod using two colors turns out black for the second color.

Extremely. The game is one of the worst optimized games I've ever played. I think the only game that has worse optimization than this is Ark: Survival evolved. My pc can run demanding AAA games like Metro Exodus and GTA 5 on ultra settings at 60-110fps, and yet this game struggles to stay within 30-60 fps. you absolutely need the extra xyz sliders, start with resizing x upper head to match the lower part of the face, increase the eye depth, tweak the distance according to how wide the mouth is and usually you need to decrease outer height and increase y outer eyelashes, you also have to reduce the distance between the eyebrow and the eye most of the time
every parameter of the nose is important but focus on the bridge because it's the hardest part and the key to remove the chinkness, the shape in particular

Some HS mods are ports of PH mods, yet people like Hooh port HS version and not PH original.

Also, I think they're starting to realize AI might not be what people thought it would be at launch, given how Illusion is handling it.
I already had this suspicion myself when it first launched, but the more time passes the more I'm convinced this is another barely supported SBPR that will eventually make way for a HS equivalent in the future, there's too many half assed design choices like limited expressions, a horrible main game, bad animation rigging compared even to KK which was already bad and the DLCs so far have been offensively bad to the point that animations aren't even included in one of the preexisting sections but have one new section for a single animation or two at best, unlike the previous games.

Seems to me AI is just the first step in coming up with a new standard that fuses all of the advancements made with PH and KK but without going balls to the walls with content, and Illusion themselves are probably still not at all comfortable with the newer Unity builds they're using, the general physics in AI (especially for the hair) for instance are beyond fucked compared to all the games before it.
That said, we'll see, but I'm noticing none of the big time item and head modders are putting much effort at all, and I don't really blame them given that again, AI seems just a stepping stone project for something that will be much better at a basic level.

AI deadzone for limbs is much worse than any of the games you mentioned, ever tried doing Shota animations? They're basically not possible without heavy PE rigging because unlike KK, arms simply do not adapt well dynamically so they inevitably clip massively when there's a height difference superior to 20 (especially when characters aren't skeletons), this wasn't the case in previous games, much like T-Rex hands.

Roy only did heads for HS and not PH. Xyth is the one that cornered that market as is making a killing. Unity engine versions that HS and AI are far apart that they are incompatible hence more work needed to port stuff. HS too old for stuff that AI can have.

Of all the active head modders around, only Roy is doing anything and he also isn't putting much effort since nobody's sure whether AI will ever take off, again, Xyth has put AI modding on hyatus indefinitely because both HS and PH are still much more lucrative, Tomb, Cunihinx, 73, MCM and whoever else are all still working on HS and none of them are interested in AI because there's no traction so far, and there probably never will be unless Illusion somehow unfucks themselves and try to generate some interest in a game that started off worse than PH despite having a better Studio.

One of largest issues with HS and PH is IPA, KK and AI didn't have to go through that bullshit thanks to BepInEx Sideloader revolution.

Make no mistake, I'm very happy AI is a thing, even if it's considerably half assed (though it's still miles better than EC at least), I'm happy modders can't make excuses anymore and are finally moving their asses onto something better.
What I'm not happy about is Illusion's usual shitty behaviour of taking several steps back for no fucking reason at all and putting no effort, it was already bad when PH launched with a castrated studio and KK still has a laughable animation library and Studio to this day unfortunately, seeing AI come with such lackluster animation library and so many stupid fucking problems that weren't a thing before, like tiny fucking hands, nonexistent camera movement speed in Studio, fucked up physics etc. is pretty bad.
The DLCs are almost offensive, just like KK's DLC, which is why again, I am very dubious AI will get big because looking at the game right now and Illusion's plans (or lack thereof) all points out at a repeat of SBPR, and you somehow get all passive aggressive about this simple fact.

People port from HS as opposed to PH because they don't have PH.

HS had PH ports, but only during the first few months of its life, and only for a few things like bodies and hairs. PH still has a lot of exclusives, but Ai modders can't get to them if they don't have the game in the first place.
The Chinese are always on top of things, so it's pretty much up to them to port PH stuff.

Is there a substantial technical difference in the rendering, engine and the world space/island?
I feel like the models look so much better in editor and kinda meh in the world. I've been messing heavily with dhh and I don't believe it's only lighting, or frame rates for that matter (which since this all very subjective could factor in just as well in terms of smoothness). Even the antialising looks like it works better in char editor "space".
Is there any merit to these ramblings of mine or is it bs and should pay more attention to other stuff that I didn't mention.

Next game is very probably going to be a successor to KK so they can keep making money on the anime crowd, AI's reception being lukewarm doesn't help.
As for another game with "realism" in mind, it's gonna be AI but on a HS format for sure.

Also consider that Illusion is trying to push the VR meme, so chances are we might get another VR Kanojo next, the future looks uncertain so far and it's really early to tell what's going to happen, if they somehow can make AI flourish, which I doubt, they're probably gonna put VR aside for a moment and focus on a successor to that, but I'm 90% sure we'll get a KK successor next.

The old standard from Playclub derivatives certainly doesn't look much better but there's something really off about AI hair, though I can't exactly pinpoint what it is, same with the general body proportions.

Doesn't help that the game physics are terrible too, don't know what the fuck possessed Illusion to come up with that shit when literally every single game before it worked better.

All Illusion games have this problem and there's no other easy way to fix it, all the plugins for height issues including the usual plugins for fixing animations with high heels simply move the actor with girl animations upwards.
Unless AI is the first game to somehow change this, which I doubt since it's not a problem with coding or anything, it's part and parcel of animation based on sliders.

Is there a way to just export only the face of a girl over another card? I think you can just drag the card over the game in koikatsu and it does that, but in Ai Shoujo that seems to load the complete card.

You can only load a whole card, and even the saving process is broken because you have to take a new shot every time instead of being able to choose to keep the previous one.
AI's CC is kinda shitty in terms of functionality and interface, massive step back from even HS, I don't know why they dropped the area overlays from PH either, those were a godsend.

It's a function in the PH's CC that fully highlights the areas of the body or face that are going to be changed by sliders.

I haven't played this since release and just downloaded the latest repack.
Is there any mod included that helps with performance? It still runs like shit, even worse then I remember. In some areas I get 20-25 fps, and it's not using my CPU or GPU fully. Also, detailed cum makes it 10-15 fps until it vanishes.

Studio is almost the same as HS studio, tutorials from that should still work for basic shit. You can find lots of video tutorials for studio in the illusion discord

Because you've seen HS studio works of characters that only look that good in Studio Neo?

AI has different body and head values in character maker, also character and body models are different hence even if you get proper conversion from HS to AI values... You won't the same look unlike HS to PH which have same body and head models, hence a plugin was made to convert characters.

IIRC, you could from PC to SBPR to HS to PH.

AI is too different.
