So I torrented the Fan Version from F95 and have been following the pastebin guide in >>5630808
but have run into a problem. The torrented version already had Patch and Launch versions but they were pointed at the person who uploaded the torrent's folders, so I have to make new ones. The IPA.exe doesn't seem to be working when I drag the game .exe files. Tried running it in administrator and still nothing. Any ideas?

Yup, got it open and mine looks similar to yours except I only have HSResolveMoreSlotIDPlugin.dll on the right. I also haven't installed Wideslider stuff, 4k skin diffuse, or SBX 2.5e yet.

One last question: this pastebin https://pastebin.com/MdpCjUVt about installing mods mentions getting Uncensor2 and its addon for more variety. Do I install SBX 2.5e, then Uncensor2 on top of that? As for the "addon" it mentions, there are four different zip files to pick from. Do I just pick one of these are will I be able to use all four?

I'm still a bit new to this game. Been playing Bethesda games for a a very long time and installing mods with a mod manager is a godsend.

Got the game all updated, patched, and running and grabbed some cards from the booru that I could find. Unfortunately 90% of them appear in-game with default hair, no makeup, etc. Is there a way to find out which mods are required for a card or do I just have to start downloading hairstyles and makeup until it works? I wish ScrewThisNoise would make a "BetterRepack" for Honey Select. His work on Koikatsu and AI Shoujo is very good, organized and user-friendly.

FlashbangZ's Final Repack 3.5 has a lot of useful stuff, albeit disorganized and kinda outdated.

Those repacks are a Godsend for people who haven't mastered the art of modding or have difficulties with file identification and arrangement.

alright I made a lot of progress but I'm confused now. so I updated the game and ran all the basic patches like IPA, translation, and wideslider and it all works so I have a clean install.

My issue is wideslider seems to have VR options, but there's no VR exe's to match them, and when I try to run them they complain about not being able to find honeyselectvr.exe (because they don't exist), what should I do so that I can get basic VR (rift) support? I don't care about any other mods, I'd just want the VR to work

In that regard you have two choice: do you want mods and plugins or do you want VR? Fakku Unlimited FR repacks might do VR well but you won't be using most mods/plugins, then.

AI just came out so not alot of mods out for it so clothing and stuff is limited while HS has too many to count. Take in mind HS has 3 years worth of mods while AI came out 2 months ago?

HS doesn't really have much "gameplay" other then picking your girl and fucking her. AI's is basically crafting survival harem island, and then pick your girl and fucking her.(mod just came out that makes it so your girls can die)

The sex positions seem to be the same I haven't seen anything new. The studio is new but I haven't spent much time in it, but I hear its very much improved.

LRE by default is pale and extremely desaturated. It came with super saturated skins to compensate.
The original idea was to use the LRE skins with cubemaps, and only cubemaps. However, people like Metagraphy and Nyaacho has shown that all it takes is proper use of IBL sliders, and good lighting practices to achieve optimal color and presentation.

If you just slap on LRE and IBL without any adjustments, your colors aren't going to be uniformed because you're overcompensating by altering your character and clothes when you should be altering your settings.

The attached scene is a good benchmark to test the quality of your current settings.

Cubemaps are good, but mostly for ambient lighting or pre-lighting.
Having a bunch of them is really good, but you really need to get your color grading down first. It's where most of the work is put to make your characters "pop" instead of looking drab and dreary.

Afterwards, cubemaps can be used as a compliment instead of a crutch.
Then good lighting is where everything comes together.

Some of the newer LRE scenes you find laying around have good color grading embedded in them that you can copy or save.

A lot of newcomers to LRE skip the setup portion, so any scene they try to create from scratch always looks off.

Its a clear example of what your character would look like if someone using 4k, vanilla, or adjusted settings loaded it.

I feel like the colors of the clothes are coming off a bit too strong. I'd relax the colors and saturation a bit imo.
You're already pretty much there, just do whatever you feel is right. Load a different scene or two and replace the existing character with yours.

Pic related. It's what that particular scene looks like without mods in case you needed to remember what vanilla looks like LMAO.

Wanted to get back into this after not playing ofr a while. Using a fresh install and I can't get HSResolveMoreSlotID to work, the exe just stops responding when I try and use it.

I'm using a 1.20 (fully patched backup) so maybe that's the issue, but trying to use it breaks the game at the moment.

You have an option for lipstick, eye shadow, blush, and a facial tattoo. However, the default stuff is pretty limiting and even mods don't have much going for them either other than maybe chinese fantasy eyeliners.

Reclick "Item Search" to remove the window
