I've released LANraragi v.0.5.5: https://github.com/Difegue/LANraragi/releases/tag/v.0.5.5 .
Biggest new feature is working Exhentai support(took me way too long), although I hope the new client API will also motivate anyone who wanted a desktop client to make their own.

Probably gonna finally update my main instance, add those 50 .zips I was waiting on my own exhentai support for and take it easy for a while.

You can download the 2 years+ old exh database by clicking Rips dir listing at the top of chaika. It's the file at the bottom. That should give you an example anyway.

Yeah, it was running on WSL, with en_US.UTF-8 locale. I ended up just changing the zip creation part to use rar instead, since zip seems to just be a shit format. I think even if I did get it to work properly with locale fuckery, it wouldn't decode reliably on other locales.

No worries, just needed to move the failed directory stuff back to where it was.

You could write a plugin that logs in to E-H (piggybacking on the existing plugin's internal API to avoid having to rewrite the entire login logic) and grabs bookmark labels for the current archive, yeah.

I don't use bookmarks, so I have no idea how you could get them from E-H - probably yet another happy fun hour with html parsing.

It was to get used to css but i think it would make it easier for users to make custom "themes" by changing colors. If you are open to this i would do the same to the other themes. Normalizing indentation would also be on the agenda.

Sure, I don't mind! Normalizing the themes is a good idea, I never think about doing it.
Make a PR on the Github repo if you do it for other themes, I'll merge it afterwards.

That thing was broken from day one for me. Double clicking on an archive never worked. The only way was to right click and opening the archive with an external application.

That never happened to me before. It's the first time I have this issue specifically. I forgot why I had to reinstall before (forcing me to try to rebuilt the metadata that would never work on my collection all at once I literally never managed to let the system tag everything) but I could at least open the galleries just fine.
I'm so mad. Nothing has changed on my computer at all, I turned off auto updates completly a long time ago.

Better yet, set them all back to default. There is no way to selectively block them without extensions. You use umatrix so make use of it instead.

That really depends on whether you like the content there or not. If you like stuff like futa and traps, there's next to none of it. You can find some loli and shota in there, but since that doesn't show up in the magazines they do all that much there's only a couple hundred chapters of them combined. Other than that though, there's over 3000 chapters of stuff to read right now, and every month you get around 100 chapters more. Then it's just a question of whether you want to pay $13/month for that. Also it's online reading only but their reader is pretty nice (way better than panda for sure). Also you can have as many favorite categories as you want and add chapters to as many categories as you like, which is something I actually wish you could do on panda. Panda has way better tags though.

I was considering it. I have a wide array of tastes, but sometimes I want the new new shit, which panda doesnt always have. Sort by english, manga only, its always the same shit every week. Ill give it a shot this month i think and see if its worth.

That's another thing Fakku has basically none of. They don't even have a tag for it.
But since you like loli and shota remember that Fakku has a "sad panda" of its own, once you make an account you need to wait 24 hours after which you can enable "controversial content" in settings which will make loli, shota and some other tags visible.

Could you debug the image search in exh and perhaps the other plugins? I often get wrong tags back and i suspect that the language preference in the exh plugin doesn't properly work.

Turns out image search didn't have the "only search covers" parameter checked, so if your cover ended up in some other gallery it'd pick that up instead. Thanks for the report!
I blame the bad image cg galleries that infest e-hentai in general.
I pushed a fixed E-H plugin to the nightlies, you can use those for the time being if you really need a fix.

Yes. It only works as a manager that support various backends on different operating systems. i think virtualbox is supported.

the out of the box only means that there shouldn't be any additional configurations required as long as it is installed.

Yeah, you need the virtualbox provider if you're using vagrant.
It's just a docker wrapper though, if you can use docker directly you're probably better off installing the docker image on its own.

Happypanda has been abandoned in favor of HPX, but HPX and lanraragi generally do the same thing. If you want something simple then go for lanraragi, but personally I'm waiting for HPX to become a little more complete because it has some really nice organizational tools that I now can't live without after using happypanda.

Are there any mobile browsers that let you save images to specified directories and with specific filenames? Basically like saving an image on pc, but on a phone.
It sucks that I can only gather lewds while I'm on pc, because most of the time I'm not and I have dozens upon dozens of sadpanda tags, pixivs, tumblrs and more to go through.

Hey, I'm the anon who had the eze tagging issue. Thanks for solving the problem. Thing is, now when I use the eze plugin, it seems to grab the first (?) artist and series it sees and appends those two tags to every archive added to the library thereafter. Image is of the tags in an affected archive.

I sanity checked the jsons for some of the affected files and there's no mention of other artists or series. Let me know if I'm just being dumb or something.

I trust you on the jsons being correct, but that means I have no idea where the issue could be coming from - Aren't you executing some other plugins by mistake? I'd like a precise reproducible walkthrough of how you got to that situation.

Looking back on it, it might be because the available plugin API that extracts files from archives always extracts them to the same location (/public/temp/plugin) - I'm pretty sure the eze jsons are deleted after the plugin is done executing, but if that goes wrong you might have a rogue extracted json being applied to all further plugin uses.

It's shitcode! I'll look into namespacing plugin extractions so that doesn't happen.

Thanks for looking into it. Just confirming that the plugins are unchecked save for eze. As for how I got there: I deleted the old installation (deleted the 0.5.4 LRR folder and berrybrew folder) and extracted and ran 0.5.5. Depends on how you want to do it. 1280x implies downscaled without much changes to compression so you could just drop the image in an image editor and do just that. If you want to do it without intervention then you can search for bulk image editors or use imagemagick and a simple script to get it done. Bottom line is to see if you are satisfied with the quality and make changes accordingly to the options and compare the size with the original. A script is of course more flexible than a bulk image editor since you can literally do anything with it so i would go with that. Someone posted a comic recompress script in the last thread, i would use it as a base and go from there. It seems to have some troubles with the zip program on windows, though. So changes to that would probably needed. Good luck.

welp, I just spent 3 hours with Glary utilities' Disk Space Analyzer and Honeyview conversion module to process every folder bigger than 150mb 1 by 1, At least I managed to get something like 50 gb of free space from doing that, it's not that difficult after you realize that you can open multiple honeyview windows at the same time so you don't have to wait for 1 conversion to finish to move to the next one

0.4 and the pre-plugin era had a batch tagging page that did exactly that - I scrapped it in favor of autotagging on upload when I made the plugin systems but knew deep down I'd have to bring it back later.
I've started porting it back and adapting it to use enabled plugins, so expect that in 0.5.6.
I'll add a configurable time interval between plugin executions as well in order to avoir e-hentai bans.

Do you have any plans to implement batch tagging without plugins? That is, you'd see the same old text box to type in your custom tags but then you select several archives from the library to apply those tags to. That would be incredibly useful. I've been manually editing a backup json file and then restoring it to the library to do this for so long now.

Not really, Hydrus is mostly meant for single images like with what you find on the boorus. You can try to set it up to import doujins and get each image tagged in a certain page order(due to hydrus not using file names) but you will most likely need to know a bit about writing up regexes. Hydrus also added a custom site scripts not long ago, where you can write up different downloaders and login scripts for sites Hydrus doesn't support so I guess you could probably get sadpanda in it but again you or someone else will have to know what they are doing and write something up. Honestly though, you'd just be better off using any of the actual doujin programs in the resource. Hydrus just isn't meant for comics

If i download a gallery it makes a zip with the name of the gallery but then places the files in a folder within that zip with like a randomly generated name instead of the gallery name.
Is there a way to prevent it from putting it inside the second folder that i'm not seeing?

How about we look at what ISP exh actually uses? It's not on Cloudflare, so we can see it's hosted by worldstream.nl. Configuring this server is around €367, and that's assuming they have no extra DDoS protection (at least an extra €100), no more than 6 IP addresses, and this is the sole server that the entire site uses (all unlikely).

Using your 1 petabyte a year estimate puts eh at 83TB/mo, to get that you need to pay an extra €150/mo with this provider. Even if they were only using 50TB, it's still ~€220.

What other extensions do you have? What userscript engine?

It looks like they are being pre-processed correctly seeing as there is an [Ex] in front of the links, but is never applying the API info. So maybe the API calls are failing? Make sure exhentai isn't blocked with any ad/script blocker.

If you can reproduce it happening, open your browser's dev console (Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+K | Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+J) and screenshot its contents also.

Also make sure H@H is running when you test, if the port is open but nothing on your system is using it, then it will show as closed. If it is running and it says closed, you fucked up the port forward.

I use Advanced Renamer to do all my renaming, has a lot of renaming options and methods you can use. There should be an option to trim characters starting from any number of spaces you want. Or you can remove a certain work or phrase.

Accounts created after 2017 are much more limited, and if you still can't access exhentai after getting rid of cookies and logging on e-hentai or the forum, then it means you've been shadow banned. Playing around with the parents and siblings when you right click on a tag or under the Service tab, both are very useful features. When it comes to siblings, you can replace a certain tag for another. Just right click on the tag, I'll use your example, "name" and select [add siblings to "name"]. The siblings window should open up which will give you an idea on how it works.

To replace "name", which should already be on the left, you add "creator:name" on the right. Once your done hit enter then the [add] button, then [apply] in that order otherwise it won't save(You'll understand when you see how its done). And from now on, whenever Hydrus picks up "name", you'll see it was "creator:name".

Parents is also useful where you basically stick tags under 1 main tag, example) A "character name" tag will always go under "that series they are from" tag whenever you pick up tags with "character name". You can do this for other things as well like series and such if you get what I mean.

I've got two accounts, one from 2017, and another from 2018. It takes about 3-4 weeks for the 2017 account and 1-2 months for the other account. It's weird as hell. You used to be able to modify the cookie to avoid the "ban" but that no longer works anymore.
