>>4934326The main issue is the fact Fakku is handling it
They have a less than impressive track record when it comes to translations and handling the community, but boy do they love enforcing copyright once they get their hands on something.
Right off the bat with HSU, we get an outdated version of HS. Now, people will tell you how that's an issue for modding but the real problem here is: how much will they make us pay for a year old DLC and will this be the formula from here on?
Have us pay for every part of a game that's been out for a while now instead of packaging it like most ports do?
And you can bet Fakku will make it hard for you to get the japanese versions from here on if this turns out to be a success.
HS links are getting taken down and forbidden to post on places that used to not give a fuck, and Fakku is most likely eyeing the upcoming Koitaku right now.
Personally I don't see the point.
Piracy was a non issue before, cause Illusion didn't care about the west.
We had a translation and we had mods, all for free
Now Fakku comes forward with a paid inferior version and makes piracy a problem.
Just because they make the game seemingly easier to access.
Here's the ugly truth, to all you who waited for HSU to start Honey Select:
translating the game was probably the easiest part of installing it.
If you want to get on the level of all those screenshots you've seen so far, and I'm not taking about the top tier ones that look like modded Skyrim, you will have to mod a lot.
And I mean a lot. 50 gigas worth of mods "lot".
And some of these mods will require more than extracting from an .rar like the translation.
So yeah, I hope you didn't wait this long hoping Fakku would give you an all in one game where you don't have to watch and read tutorials.
Unless Fakku comes forwards with english releases of the poorly translated old illusion titles, they have no leg to stand on.
