I don't think so. Those scars look like 3rd-degree burns, with subsequent necrosis. In such a state the nerves are pretty much completely dead, and the tissue doesn't hurt.

No, that is just Ray not knowing how burns work.

1st- and 2nd-degree burns (sub-degree A) usually recover completely on their own, but are painful to very painful. 2nd-degree B leaves scars that are unlikely to go away, but the original skin tone is still preserved.

3rd-degree is what she has, and 4th-degree is about Anakin Skywalker.

Dunno where you got that idea from, but no, it's possible to survive 4th-degree burns. However, since you're already dealing with necrosis at 3rd-degree burns, you can be somewhat sure that you're going to lose those parts of yours due to amputation.

It's the context that allows for 'but no'. In a full statement, it would read:

So because you're giving a direct response to a question, you can negate their question and then provide your reasoning without committing grammatical murder.

The question was *how* to negate a negative question in English, not if I *can* do it. Proper grammar is to negate a negative question by answering it with "Yes" instead of "No".

The explanation following the incorrect "No" can remedy it, but it does not change the fact that it's incorrect grammar in the first place.

You're gonna want to download v1.9.2 version of the game linked earlier and the .rar in the OP modpatch link. Then just open it, drag and drop everything inside into the Teaching Feeling folder and let it merge and replace.

I'm trying to make the dictionary file of all dialogue so I can update and change it for Tays new additions.
I have tried what was mention in the readme.txt but it appears to fail or I'm doing it wrong.

Readme "To generate a translation file from scratch, you should set translate.file to a
file containing only "{}" (without the quotes)."

I think this is referring to config.json but generation never occurs after the change.

I'm guessing you set the translate file to that rather than the update file. You have to 'update' a new file. It's the second half of the config.json file.

No no no no. Now I see what you did wrong, jeez.

Delete test.json from file under update and leave it just "".

In file for translate replace "" with {} and try loading the game. It should generate a new file.

I added in [call storage="translate/translate.ks"] to load the plugin and did have text getting translated so I assume that should be right.

I'm not sure what you referring to when you say the Translate file. when checking around I can find a few options with Translate in the name.

I know I'm asking to be spoon fed here but can you show me an example? or what file the file for translate is?

The reason I don't know is I'm on my phone and can't test myself and I've literally never tried to create a dictionary from scratch with it. But if that's what the readme says, then it should work...

Well it just searches for a file with {} as the name and fails.

Same without the qoutes as it look for a object to parse.

So far I can tell it just trying to load something and never actual generates the file. I'll have to look through on Boxing day. See if I missed anything when adding it to 2.0.2

Maybe the readme is wrong. Try blanking the translate part and do the {} or "{}" in the update.file part.

Honestly I'd have to step through the translation script's routines to give you anything more than a guess but I wouldn't be able to do that until Tuesday at the earliest. Hopefully you can figure it out before then. Good luck.

In Notepad, start a new file. In the file, type one line like this:
{}

Save it to the assets folder as a file with a .json extension, for example:
my_translation.json

Change the translate.file line to be like this (note the comma at the end!):
"file": "my_translation.json",

Change the update.file line to the same thing:
"file": "my_translation.json",

Run Teaching Feeling. No text will be translated yet, but when you check my_translation.json, it should now be full with all the lines from the game. You can now go through and change the null on each line to your own translation.

Alternatively: do not create a new file. Instead, grab the latest RJ162718.json from the mod patch in OP and replace the file that came with the plugin. In config.json, change update.file to RJ162718.json as directed above. Now a good chunk of the lines will already be translated. For untranslated lines, just search for null.

1.9.2 is the newest full release without new art, I believe. I'm not sure exactly what's changed between the two versions, but 1.9.2 supports the modpatch, which adds some extra stuff.

He's got other games he's working on, drawing does take some time, he's doing the coding himself (for better or for worse), and of course there's his Twitter correspondence. Apart from the last one I wouldn't exactly call this "taking his sweet ass time".

Tell me where I'm wrong. It's more than inconvenient, it relies on dumb memorisation which is indicative for their entire culture, and it's being kept alive artificially, like banks or Michael Schumacher.

And the basis of the language relies on syllables rather than sounds, which leads to really dumb hacks within the language ("Famicon" instead of "Famicom", for family computer, for example). Even that very basis is completely rotten, and I don't understand how people can be so fucking submissive as to go down to their level and actually learn their language. And if that means no exports because they cannot be bothered to properly translate their shit, fine. They've already had the Edo era during which they lived in self-chosen isolation, and at the end of it they were completely underdeveloped and their society could be turned upside down with a few gunboats and some Gatling Guns.

The old translation had to use a few tricks to handle those lines. E.g. making "(I bought the thick ribbon" simply "_ thick ribbon" instead, even though it doesn't technically match the line it would be replacing. I think this was the case with many of the purchasable items.

I'm pretty sure the "you made this, I made this" comic was in reference to the aforementioned traced image (which someone posted in one of these threads quite some time ago, claiming it to be their own drawing, when the original picture that they had traced was also posted in the thread).

Keep in mind this is only for Hoshimemo. Ley Line, another recent release by sekai, is also in an awful state with a bunch of errors and untranslated lines. AND if you update that game, it deletes your saves.

The code changes TS-tan is referring to are x/y coordinates for the UI, I assume. You can't just dump English images into the game and expect everything to match up.
