But what's "illegal" and what's "acceptable" in Japan are two different things.
I can go to my local family mart and buy porn that's on display for all to see. But if someone made a stink about it tomorrow, it could all be gone by next week.
Japanese laws are strict, but if you keep your head down and your mouth shut, you can get away with quite a lot.
..not that I do anything like that of course.
