Download all the patches and updates at Ryona Mugen database. Look around in forums for stuff to download. Search 'Utimaxeno Mugen' and 'mugen hentai characters'. I also found some on 4shared.

I'm pretty sure that this was the last major (non-Japanese) place where people were developing parts of the game, but apparently the forums are gone now.

Is there some other collaboration site for this? Or is it just a bunch of separate, outdated blogs that never update?

Well, some of the sprite have improved, but the community hasn't. There aren't any useful english sites anymore, just forum threads.
