>>26519819No. Just ask, “hey, before we start, have you been tested recently?” If they say ‘no’, then back off on the sexytimes until they get tested. This is a TOTALLY reasonable and responsible request. If someone is sexually active, they should be getting tested AT LEAST twice a year. The tests for HIV and Herpes are free to all. No excuses to not get one.
>>26519833>And remember to always use condoms. Genital warts and pubic lice can be transferred despite the use of a condom.
What you need to learn is that a vast majority of STDs have effective treatments.
Chlamydia, gonorrhea, or syphilis? We have antibiotics for that!
Genital warts (HPV)? Get yourself some cream or ask your doc to remove it. If you’re a girl, go get your free vaccine.
Crabs? Shave your junk and wash with RID.
The two main ones we don’t have treatments for are HIV and Herpes. If your partner has genital herpes, you can actually see the sores and nope your way outta there. HIV is the real danger here. While we do currently have ways of treating early stages of HIV, you don’t want to have to shell out the big bucks for them. THIS is why you wear a condom. The CDC has done a spectacular job of prevention and awareness. Most people with HIV catch it early and have to tell all their sexual partners. Those partners get tested and so on until that particular outbreak is contained and all parties know if they’re sick.
Overall, communication and condoms are your two best friends. Good luck renouncing your wizardhood. Though, I heard the powers you get are pretty sweet.
