She was definitely being harsh, but ultimately the reason why she didn’t sign off on them starting hormones is because she didn’t think that s/he was really doing it for themselves. I can’t really argue with that when immediately after she says that the MC flashes to thinking about the man who s/he thinks that they want to like them (despite not really showing any signs of physical attraction to like they do with girls)
I haven’t really seen the display any discomfort over their body changing for its own sake and not just over the social ramifications of the change.
It’s up in the air for me though, if it starts making the MC actually dysphoric when their body keeps changing then I could see the plot going the trans route.
