if she's enjoying spending time with you, and you reveal your interest quickly and openly, I'd say that's fair
if you make friends first, or try and train her like a dog like that other anon is suggesting, make your interest known early, or overtly explicitly, it'd hurt her to be friends for a few months, then she turns you down, then you stop being friends or just lose interest
