basically, men are never treated as the prize by women and often aren't made to feel the sense of care or 'protection' that women so often receive, so much so that it feels almost impossible to be a man and receive that from a woman. if you did receive it, you may even feel insecure, because you're taught you'll lose the respect of others if you enjoy it as a man.
