and idk i still see ppl at punk shows dressing like that, more or less. girls especially. i dont think it ever left. the problem is that a lot of the actual scene that existed behind it is gone. everything is just an aesthetic now. something you slip on/off at will. it used to be if you dressed weird, you had to commit or you were branded POSER (think: untouchables in india). so you had your allies who were in your corner, and then everyone else was potentially the enemy. it made for the kinds of friends that ppl sadly dont seem to make anymore
