>>1234205Trust me, it's a much bigger struggle for a hearing person dating a Deaf person than another hearing one.
Besides the surprisingly huge cultural differences between Deaf and non-Deaf people and the linguistic boundaries, there're also several other problems involved depending on your proficiency with sign and their involvement (or lack thereof) with Deaf Clubs and the Deaf community in general.
You can't win dating a Deaf person. For one, most Deaf will just not bed, never mind date, hearing people who are just starting to learn sign, so it'll be a while before you can even get there. They're like black women that way: most black women would never dream about fucking outside their own race, never mind dating, lets be honest. That's why of the hundreds of thousands of half-blacks you may know, only a handful have black mothers.
Then there's
All.
The.
Fucking.
Baggage.
Deaf people are just fucked in the head. Really, I can't blame them because for a large number of them, they spent the most important parts of their developing years, from 2-8 years old or so, isolated from other people due to linguistic barriers, even in their own families. This is fucking traumatic. As such, unless the Deaf person is genetically deaf (more on that later) and from a genetically deaf Deaf family, it's very likely they're going to be bratty, horrible shits, prone to temper tantrums and quick to frustration, even well into their adulthoods and old age.
Still, even if I can't blame them for it doesn't mean I want to have that sort of nutjobbery in my life.
Finally, say you're very proficient with sign. Say you can have long, in depth conversations & are totally fluent in the cultural aspects of Deafness as well as sign language.
This is the worst time to bed or date a Deaf person. Reasons follow:
